Juniors Stephanie Clark and Caitlyn Smith recorded career-highs to lead Muskingum women's basketball past John Carroll 74-60 in their Ohio Athletic Conference opener Saturday afternoon at the DeCarlo Center.

- Clark posted her first career double-double as she netted 10 points and tied a game-high 11 rebounds.
- Smith added a career-high 16 points, shooting 10-for-15 including 2-for-3 from behind the arc.
- Senior Mallory Taylor added 14 points and six rebounds for the Muskies.
- Muskingum finished the contest shooting 24-for-65 (.369) from the field and 17-for-23 (.739) from the free throw line.
- John Carroll was led by Katlyn Spahar and Anne Principe with 15 points each.
- Shmoo Pryor chipped in 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
- The Blue Streaks shot 24-for-74 (.324) from the field.

- John Carroll jumped out to a 23-16 advantage after the first period.
- Smith led the Muskies with four points.
- In the second period, Muskingum used a 7-0 run led by Taylor to tie the contest at 23-23 with 8:36 to play.
- Muskingum out scored the Blue Streaks 21-9 in the second period to take the 37-32 halftime lead.
- Taylor netted six points to lead the Muskies in the frame.
- John Carroll took the lead early in the third quarter as a jumper from Spahar put the Blue Streaks on top 38-37.
- Freshman Morgan Gossett connected from downtown with 1:17 remaining in the third quarter to give the Muskies the lead for good 46-44.
- The Muskies largest lead of the contest, 74-57, came in the final period as Taylor sank a pair of free throws with 39 seconds remaining to secure the win.
