Muskingum STUNT hosts program's first-ever home event against Olivet and Hiram

The Muskingum University STUNT team hosted their first-ever home event in the Anne C. Steele Center on Saturday morning. However, the Muskies fell in game one against Olivet College 10-8 and dropped their final contest of the day against Hiram College 8-6.

The Basics – Game One

Records: Muskingum (1-1), Olivet (3-3)

Location: Anne C. Steele Center

Against Olivet, the Muskies and Comets both finished tied at one in partner stunts. The second quarter saw Olivet stretch out to a three-point lead in pyramids and tosses. Muskingum outscored Olivet in quarter three 4-1 in jumps and tumbling to knot up the score heading into the final period. The Comets used a 5-3 advantage in team routines to secure a 10-8 victory over the Muskies.

The Basics – Game Two

Records: Muskingum (1-2), Hiram (4-1)

Location: Anne C. Steele Center

Against Hiram, the opening quarter saw the Terriers jump out to a 2-0 lead in partner stunts. Hiram extended their lead 4-0 in the second on pyramids and tosses. Muskingum used a 3-2 advantage in jumps and tumbling to cut the Terrier deficit 6-3 with one quarter remaining. Even though Muskingum had a 3-2 advantage over Hiram in team routines it was not enough has Hiram secured an 8-6 win.

Muskingum will compete in the Ashland Invitational on Saturday, April 2, at Kates Gymnasium in Ashland, Ohio. The event starts at 9:00 AM.
