The Muskingum softball team split their home opener against Denison, finishing 1-1. In the first game, the Muskies fell 8-1. In game two, the Muskies delivered a dominant 12-0 shutout victory.

Game one
- The Muskies finished with 25 at bats, one run, three hits, and one RBI.
- Junior Cara Taylor led the Muskies, as she went 2-for-3.
- Freshman Emily Travis added a hit.
- Junior Eliana Shaheen had an RBI.
- Both Tareyn Born and Bethany Rodman each stood in the pitching circle. Born pitched three innings and totaled four strikeouts, while Rodman posted three strikeouts in four innings.
Game Two
- The Muskies finished with 25 at-bats, 12 runs, 12 hits, 10 RBIs, and a stolen base.
- Freshman Kasey Timko went 3-for-4 in the batter's box, recording four RBIs and one run.
- Junior Cara Taylor contributed two hits, two runs, and a stolen base.
- Sophomore Bethany Rodman tallied two RBIs and one hit while also pitching four innings, allowing only three hits.
- Sophomore Morgan Layne added two hits, two RBIs, and one run.
- Sophomore Natalie Smith and junior Eliana Shaheen each recorded an RBI and a run. Shaheen also posted two hits, including a double.
- Freshman Hailey Pueblo logged two runs and a hit.
- Freshman Ashley Brewster closed for the Muskies, pitching one inning and recording one strikeout.

The Muskies will be back in action Wednesday, March 26, when they host Hiram for a doubleheader. The games are scheduled to start at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
