Eshelman’s walk-off home run propels Muskingum to sweep Marietta

Senior Kalie Eshelman blasted a walk-off home run to deep left field in the bottom of the seventh to power the Muskies past Marietta and propel the Muskies to the doubleheader sweep.

Game one

  • The Muskies finished with 25 at bats, five runs, eight hits, three RBIs, six stolen bases, and was walked two times.
  • Senior Madelyn Thomas led the Muskies with her stellar performance from the pitching circle. Thomas pitched for all seven innings and faced 31 batters. She threw 144 strikes, with 11 strikeouts, and only allowed three hits.
  • Sophomore Sadie Smith helped fuel the offense as she went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, two RBIs, and a stolen base.
  • Freshman Natalie Smith contributed a hit, two stolen bases, a run, and an RBI.
  • Senior Kalie Eshelman totaled one hit, one run, and a stolen base.
  • Sophomore Cara Taylor earned a hit and was walked twice.
  • Freshman Kenzie Standerfer was walked twice and tallied a base hit.

  • The Muskies finished with 29 at bats, four runs, 12 hits, four RBIs, three stolen bases, and was walked once.
  • Senior Kalie Eshelman showed out for the Muskies as she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBIs, and a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh.
  • Senior Rosie Hayes helped spark the Muskie bats as she went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI.
  • Sophomore Cara Taylor contributed one hit, one run, and an RBI.
  • Freshman Taryn Mickley posted two hits and a run.
  • Freshman Natalie Smith and freshman Kenzie Standerfer each finished with a hit. Standerfer added a run.
  • Freshman Tareyn Born was pitching for the Muskies. Born pitched seven innings, faced 34 batters, and earned five strikeouts.
