The Muskingum softball team split their road doubleheader against Ohio Athletic Conference rival Marietta on Saturday afternoon at Marietta Field. They won Game 1, 3-2 and fell in Game 2, 6-5.

Inside the Numbers – Game 1
- Junior Hannah Smith earned her ninth win in the circle, pitching a complete game allowing two runs on four hits and registering seven strikeouts.
- Senior Shaena Mayer led the Muskie offense finishing with two hits in the contest.
- Freshman Alex Fankhauser notched one hit and one RBI for the Muskies.
- Senior Bailey Waitkus and junior Katie Osburn each tallied a hit for the Muskies.
- Sophomore Carlee Lamacz added an RBI.
- Jess Brown guided the Pioneer offense with two hits, including a home run.

The Difference - Game 1
- The Pioneers plated the first run of the game with a homerun gaining an early, 1-0 lead.
- The Muskies scored their first two runs in the third capitalizing on a pioneer throwing error getting a 2-1 lead.
- The Muskies plated their third one in the fifth inning off a Fankhauser RBI single to first base making it 3-1.
- The Pioneers plated their last run of the game in the bottom of the seventh scoring off a Muskie throwing error making it, 3-2.
- Marietta finished the game with three errors, while Muskingum finished with one error.
- The Muskies left a total of eight runners on base.
Inside the Numbers – Game 2
- Senior Hannah Duff took the loss for the Muskies allowing six runs off eight hits in 4.1 innings of work.
- Freshman Madelyn Thomas fired 1.2 innings of relief allowing one hit and one strikeout.
- Senior Karsyn Shaffer added a hit and chipped in two RBIs for the Muskies.
- Freshman Alex Fankhauser blasted a home run for the Muskies.
- Senior Bailey Waitkus added a hit and RBI.
- Senior Riley Powers, Mayer, and Lamacz each recorded two hits in the contest.
- Kylie Daugherty guided the Pioneer offense with a three-run home run.
- Maddi Listen was the winning pitcher throwing 2.1 innings allowing one run off three hits.
The Difference - Game 2
- The Pioneers capitalized on a Muskie throwing error to jump to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
- The Pioneers struck again this time with a three-run homer to extend their lead, 4-0.
- The Muskies plated three runs in the fourth inning still trailing the Pioneers, 4-3.
- The Muskies tied the game off a Waitkus RBI single up the middle making it, 4-4.
- The Pioneers plated two more runs in the fifth off a home run extending their lead to two runs, 6-4.
- The Muskies were only able to get one run in the seventh off a Fankhauser solo home run making it the final, 6-5.
- The Muskies finished the contest with 10 hits off five runs.
- The Muskies left ten runners on base for the contest.
