The Muskingum softball team defeated Wilmington in dominating fashion on Friday afternoon. The Muskies won Game 1, 14-1, and Game 2, 8-0. The Muskies finished both games with a total of 26 hits.

Inside The Numbers- Game 1
- Junior Hannah Smith started in the circle for the Muskies and pitched four innings allowing one run and one hit. She notched five strikeouts during the contest.
- Freshman Madelyn Thomas finished on the mound, pitching one inning, and tossing two strikeouts.
- Junior Haley Hawk guided the Muskies offense going 2-for-3 at the plate and added four RBIs.
- Sophomore Carlee Lamacz went 2-for-2 at the plate blasting a home run. She finished the contest with three RBIs.
- Junior Katie Osburn finished at the plate going 2-for-3 and added an RBI.
- Senior Karsyn Shaffer added one hit and two RBIs.
- Junior Cristianna Boggs added a hit and an RBI for Muskingum.
- Hayley Suchland led the Quakers at the plate with a solo home run.
- Lindsey Carter got the start for the Quakers allowing six runs off six hits.
The Difference- Game 1
- Muskingum scored two runs off three hits to take a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
- The Muskies expanded their lead 5-0 after a Lamacz two-run home run in the second inning. They ended the second inning with four runs off three hits.
- The Muskies continued their surge of runs in the third inning off a Hawk single scoring two more runs. The Muskies finished the third inning with three runs off two hits.
- Hayley Suchland hit a solo home run for the Quackers to get on the board in the fourth.
- The Muskies continued to dominate at the plate adding five runs off five hits in the fourth to extend their lead 14-1.
- The Muskies finished the contest with 13 hits.
Inside the Numbers- Game 2
- Senior Hannah Duff got the start for the Muskies pitching six innings and tossing eight strikeouts. She allowed no runs off four hits.
- Mayer finished the contest going 3-for-3 adding two runs.
- Hawk smacked a home run and added two RBIs in the contest.
- Osburn chipped in two hits and added an RBI.
- Senior Francesca Stefano added a hit and tallied two RBIs.
- Boggs and Sophomore Claire Warschauer finished the game with one hit and one RBI.
- Shaffer and Lamacz finished the contest with two hits.
- Kylah Morrison led Wilmington with two hits.
- Alexis Stringfellow pitched the first four innings for the Quakers allowing seven runs off 11 hits.
The Difference – Game 2
- Muskingum scored one run in the first inning and second inning to take an early 2-0 lead.
- The Muskies notched two runs in the third inning off a Warschauer double and Stefano single.
- Muskingum extended their lead in the fourth inning getting three runs off four hits.
- Muskingum secured the win with a Hawk solo shot to right center to make the final, 8-0.
- The Muskies ended the contest with 13 hits.
