The Muskingum softball team swept Capital in Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader action on Sunday afternoon. The Muskies won Game 1, 8-2, and dominated Game 2 in five innings, 14-1. Muskingum finished the weekend going 4-0 against Capital.

Inside The Numbers - Game 1
- Junior Hannah Smith started on the mound for the Muskies and pitched six innings allowing two runs off six hits. She notched five strikeouts during the contest.
- Senior Karsyn Shaffer helped guide the Muskie offense with four hits, while freshman Ashlyn Yarger tallied three hits and two RBIs.
- Sophomore Carlee Lamacz and junior Haley Hawk added two hits and two RBIs.
- Junior Katie Osburn chipped in one hit and one RBI for the Muskies.
- Lauren Kachure and Haley Grau led Capital with one hit and one RBI each.
- Brianna Shearer pitched the first 4.2 innings for Capital allowing four runs off nine hits.
The Difference - Game 1
- Muskingum started the scoring in the second inning off an RBI double from sophomore Claire Warchauer to make it, 1-0.
- Grau tied the game in the second inning 1-1 with a solo home run.
- The Muskies regained the lead 2-1 off an RBI single from Osburn in the third.
- Capital tied it back up 2-2 in the third with a solo home run from Lachure.
- Muskingum used a 6-0 surge in the final four innings to secure the win, 8-2.
Inside The Numbers - Game 2
- Senior Hannah Duff started in the circle for the Muskies and pitched the first four innings allowing one run off three hits. She also grabbed four strikeouts.
- Senior Shaena Mayer and Osburn both led the Muskie offense with two hits and three RBIs each.
- Senior Riley Powers added two hits for Muskingum.
- Senior Francesca Stefano, sophomore Taylor Gallentine, and senior Bailey Waitkus chipped in one hit and one RBI a piece.
- Erica Ogden, Kayedon Martin, and Alysa Durbin each notched one hit to lead Capital.
- Madrienne Herdlick started on the mound for Capital pitching the first 2.2 innings allowing six runs off four hits.
The Difference - Game 2
- Muskingum took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning with Shaffer scoring on an error.
- Capital tied it up 1-1 in the first inning.
- The Muskies used a massive 13-0 run for the remainder of the game to earn the win, 14-1.
