#TributeThursday - featuring Muskingum softball seniors

Today, Muskingum Athletics honors three senior student-athletes from the Muskie softball team - Jennifer Schrader, Kasey Rininger, and Jaelyn Meade.

Senior Outfielder Jennifer Schrader - Biology major

Schrader, a graduate of Bishop Hartley High School, is the daughter of Susan and Greg Schrader. She has played in 56 career games for the Muskies, notching 19 hits and 12 RBIs. She was a member of the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season championship team.

"Jennifer is stoic and kind. She had earned a good amount of playing time in the outfield for us before tearing her knee during her junior year. Upon her return from surgery, she kept focus and came back a stronger leader and student of the game," said Muskingum Softball Head Coach Kari Winters. "Jennifer was voted a team captain this spring, and that speaks volumes on her leadership abilities. We are excited to follow Jennifer during the course of her life because we all know she is going to do big things!"

Senior Catcher Kasey Rininger - Early Childhood Education major

Rininger, a graduate of LaBrae High School, is the daughter of Sandy and Bruce Rininger. She has played in 63 career games and registered 30 hits, 20 RBIs and belted eight doubles. She helped Muskingum win the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season championship.

"Kasey was a ball of energy who always had a smile on her face. Her willingness to commit to her defensive game over the last two years was fun to watch," said Muskingum Softball Head Coach Kari Winters. "Her vocal presence was game-changing on the field and in our practices. Kasey grew tremendously as a person during her four years on our campus. She is a great friend, daughter, teammate, aunt, and an all-around good person. She, without question, will be an awesome educator upon graduating."

Senior Infielder Jaelyn Meade - Marketing and Economics major

Meade, a graduate of Lake High School, is the daughter of Kelly and Brian Meade. She played in 92 career games and notched 96 career hits, with 65 RBIs, 59 runs, 19 doubles, 13 home runs, and six triples. Meade is a two-time First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and an NFCA Division III First Team All-Central Region selection. She helped Muskingum win the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season championship.

"Jaelyn was an immediate impact player upon stepping foot onto our campus," said Muskingum Softball Head Coach Kari Winters. "Her strong mentality and drive to be a game-changer was a big part of two conference tournament teams, a conference championship, and a number of individual accolades. Her excitement when she came up big offensively will be missed, but her mark that she left on our program will be forever remembered."
