Dotson's grand slam leads Muskies to DH split

Senior Haley Dotson blasted a grand slam in game one against Ohio Wesleyan to help lead the Muskies to a doubleheader split on Tuesday. The Muskies won game one, 10-2, while the Battling Bishops claimed the nightcap, 3-2.

The Basics

Game One

  • In the bottom of the first inning with two outs, the Muskie offense erupted as Dotson recorded her first career grand slam scoring senior Jessica Matthews, senior Dakota DeAmicis and junior Haylea Debolt.
  • Muskingum tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the second inning following RBI's by Matthews, Debolt and junior Abigail Orr.
  • Dotson led the Muskies 14 hit attack going 2-for-2 with a grand slam and two runs scored.
  • In the circle, Dotson (4-5) collected the win pitching three innings surrendering one hit.
  • Ohio Wesleyan was led at the plate by Taylor Dickson going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Game Two

  • Muskingum claimed the 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the second following a homerun by sophomore Rachel Eberling.
  • The Battling Bishops rallied scoring one run in the third and two in the seventh to claim the win. 
  • Muskingum was led at the dish by Eberling going 1-for-3 with two RBI's.
  • Debolt (1-3) was tagged with the loss throwing 3.2 innings surrendering two runs on five hits.
  • Ohio Wesleyan was led by Erin Ferguson going 2-for-4 with two RBI's. 
  • Bianca Sibilly (2-5) claimed the win pitching six complete innings allowing two runs on three hits.

  • Muskingum returns to action Wednesday, March 29 against Bethany. First pitch is set for 3:30 pm. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 30.
