Sophomore Melissa Maiorano hit a dramatic two-out home run in the bottom of the seventh to lift Muskingum to an electrifying 2-1 win against 24th-ranked Heidelberg on Thursday afternoon at Donna J. Newberry Field. The game two victory gave the Muskies a split against the Student Princes. Heidelberg won the opener, 8-6.

Game 2
- Maiorano's long ball was her second of the season and the third hit of the game for the Muskies.
- Muskingum plated its first run in the third inning on senior Sarah Browning's ground out that scored freshman Krissy Hughes from third.
- Muskie freshman pitcher Rachel Eberling scattered six hits and allowed one unearned run en route to earning her team-best fifth win of the season.
- Renee Lovett provided Heidelberg with its lone run on an RBI single in the third inning. She ended the game with a pair of hits.
- Erin Chapman (7-3) took the loss after going 6.2 innings and allowing two runs on three hits.
Game 1
- Heidelberg scored three runs in the top of the first and led throughout the game to notch the Ohio Athletic Conference win.
- The Muskies trimmed their deficit to one twice and had the game-tying run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh when the game ended.
- Junior Jessica Matthews had three RBIs for the Muskies, which included hitting a two-run double.
- Browning hit a home run and had an RBI double.
- Senior Fallon Gawry went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
- The Muskies scored six runs on 10 hits.
- Junior Dakota DeAmicis (4-1) suffered her first loss of the season after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits in one inning of work.
- Mikaela Mitsch led Heidelberg going 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
- Marissa Smego went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
- Paige Atterholt (10-2) earned the win after tossing a complete game 10 hitter with six runs (five earned).
- Heidelberg ended the outing with eight runs on 11 hits.
