Men’s Indoor Track and Field competes at Bob Shannon Invitational

The Muskingum men's indoor track and field team placed sixth out of a nine-team field at the Bob Shannon Invitational and sent a group of Muskies to the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Open.

Bob Shannon Invitational

The Basics

  • Location: Mitchell Fieldhouse – Granville, Ohio
  • Muskingum finished in sixth with a total of 44 points.
  • Denison won the team title, racking up an overall total of 138.50.

On the Track

  • In the 5000 meters, sophomore Blake Miller finished in first place with a time of 16:21.58.
  • Sophomore Cooper Bell tallied a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.34.
  • In the 200-meter, senior Doudley Jaboin finished eighth out of thirty-six competitors with a time of 23:81.
  • Senior Cameron Scott secured a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 53.21.
  • In the distance medley, the Muskingum team of freshman Nicholas Hatfield, freshman Elijah Newland, sophomore Sean Murdock, and junior Korey Kakascik placed third with a time of 12:05.27.

In the Field

  • Sophomore William Jackson tallied a distance of 15.85 meters in the weight throw event to place first. Jackson also tallied a mark of 12.79 meters in the shot put event placing seventh.
  • Freshman Nathan Thomas tallied a sixth-place finish in the Shot put with a mark of 12.80 meters.
  • In the Long Jump, junior Trey Gastrich hit a mark of 6.19 meters to finish sixth, while sophomore Thoman Christman placed seventh with a mark of 6.15 meters.
  • Junior Broderick Baumbusch placed eighth in the pole vault event with a mark of 2.89 meters.

On The Track

  • Senior Colton Whyte placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.38.

  • Muskingum next competes at the All-Ohio Invitational on Saturday, February 15. The event is hosted by Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.
