Senior Tristan Makowski broke the school record in shot put for the third time this year to help lead the men's indoor track and field team at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
Notables
- Senior Tristan Makowski set the school record in shot put for the third time this season. He did so with a mark of 16.03 meters, which outdid his previous school record mark of 16.01 meters.
- Makowski earned All-OAC honors for his performance in the shot put after finishing in second place.
- This was the first time the Ohio Athletic Conference indoor track & field Championships were held at Muskingum.
The Basics
- Location: Bullock Health and Wellness Complex – New Concord, Ohio
- Muskingum scored 24 points as a team to finish ninth.
- Mount Union won the event and was awarded Ohio Athletic Conference Champions for the 2023-24 indoor track & field season.
On the Track
- The 4x200 relay team of sophomore Trey Gastrich, sophomore Ryan Irwin, sophomore Noah Mitchell, and junior Colton Whyte finished in sixth place with a time of 1:32.01.
- Irwin also logged a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.59.

The 4x400 relay team of junior Doudley Jaboin, freshman James Jackson, junior Cameron Scott, and Whyte logged a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:29.70.
In the Field
- Makowski broke the school record in the shot put on his way to finishing second and earning All-OAC honors to lead the Muskies. Makowski hit a mark of 16.03 meters, breaking his previous school record mark of 16.01.
- In the triple jump, the Muskies had two finishes in the top 6. Sophomore Noah Mitchell logged a fifth-place finish with a mark of 13.19 meters, and Whyte added a sixth-place finish with a mark of 12.92 meters.
