Men’s Soccer falls to Mount Union on the Road

The Muskingum men's soccer team lost a road OAC matchup with Mount Union, 2-0.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (2-11 overall 1-5 OAC), Mount Union (9-2-4 overall, 4-1-1 OAC)

 How It Happened

  • Mount Union struck first off a Penalty Kick from Jamon McCort to take a, 1-0 lead.
  • The Purple Raiders struck their final goal at the 51:04 mark from Xavier Pinaya to secure a 2-0 home victory. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Edwin Palou and junior Mahfuz Yakubu led the Muskingum offensive attack with two shots apiece.
  • Junior David Carlson and junior Morgan McKenna rounded out the Muskingum effort with one shot each.
  • Freshman Caden Groff secured 10 saves in 90 minutes of work between the pipes for the Muskies.
  • Jamon McCort and Xavier Pinaya led the Purple Raider offense with one goal each.
