The Muskingum men's soccer team dropped a road OAC contest against Capital, 2-0.

 The Basics

Records: Muskingum (2-9 overall, 1-3 OAC), Capital (2-7-2 overall, 1-2-1 OAC)

How it Happened

  • Despite Capital's 17-3 advantage in first-half shots, both teams were deadlocked 0-0 heading into the break.
  • Capital struck the scoreless contest at the 47:24 mark off a Devon Hess strike to gain a 1-0 lead.
  • The Comets scored their final goal of the contest at the 80:30 mark from Jack Kossoudji to secure a, 2-0 home victory. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Edwin Palou led the Muskie attack with two shots.
  • Freshman Colton Cunningham and junior Mahfuz Yakubu chipped in one shot apiece to round out the Muskingum offensive effort.
  • Freshman Caden Groff secured a career-high 14 saves in 90 minutes of work between the pipes for the Muskies.
  • Devon Hess and Jack Kossosiudji had one goal apiece to lead the Comet offense. 
  • Connor Sexton snagged three saves in 90 minutes of work for Capital.

The Muskies next host Baldwin Wallace for Senior Day on Saturday, October 15. Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM at the North Athletic Turf Field. Muskingum will honor seniors Edwin Palou, Hunter Foley, Thomas Rooney, and Dilpreet Sandhu prior to the contest.
