Men’s Soccer suffers tough road loss at Transylvania 

The Muskingum Men's soccer team suffered a tough road loss to Transylvania on Saturday afternoon, 3-2. 

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (1-6), Transylvania (3-2-3)
  • Location: North Athletic Turf Field

 How it Happened 

  • The Pioneers opened the scoring up in the 8th minute to jump ahead, 1-0.
  • The Muskies evened the score at one, off a strike from Keaton Taylor. The goal was assisted by  Morgan McKenna.
  • Muskingum took a 2-1 lead at the 29:22 mark off a goal from Edwin Palou. The strike was assisted by Abdikani Mohamed
  • Transylvania knotted the score at two in the 60th minute off a goal from Henry Roetker.
  • The Pioneers used a late strike to secure the 3-2 home win over the Muskies. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Edwin Palou and Freshman Keaton Taylor led the Muskingum attack with one goal apiece.
  • Juniors Morgan McKenna and Abdikani Mohamed chipped in two assists. 
  • Freshman Filip Milic and Junior Morgan McKenna rounded out the Muskingum scoring effort with one shot each. 
  • Freshman goalkeeper Evan Laraba grabbed four saves in 90 minutes of work for the Muskies.
  • Nathan White, Henry Roetker, and Max Nusbacher led the Pioneer offense with one goal apiece.
