The Muskingum men's soccer team used a strong offensive surge Friday evening to secure a 4-2 victory against Pitt.-Bradford.
The Basics

How it Happened
- Muskingum struck first off a header from junior Mahfuz Yakubu in the 8th minute. The strike was assisted by junior Abdikani Mohamed.
- Continuing their offensive push, the Muskies found the back of the net again, this time from a through ball from Yakubu who connected to senior Edwin Palou in the 11th minute.
- Pitt.–Bradford trimmed the lead 2-1 in the 29th minute off a shot from Rodney Walker.
- The Muskies answered back the Panthers' goal with a strike of their own from freshman Filip Milic in the 29th minute. The goal was assisted by Palou.
- The back-and-forth offensive battle continued as Pitt.-Bradford drew within one this time off a penalty kick from Devin Stowe in the 41st minute.
- The Muskies held a 3-2 advantage at the half.
- Muskingum wrapped their scoring up in the 75th minute off a strike from junior David Carlson.
Inside the Numbers
- Muskingum ended the outing with a 29-5 edge in shots, and an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- Junior Mahfuz Yakubu, senior Edwin Palou, freshman Filip Milic, and junior David Carlson led the Muskie attack with one goal each.
- Palou finished with a game-high 13 shots and chipped in an assist.
- Junior Abdikani Mohamed added an assist and six shots.
- Sophomore Kia Fowler, junior TJ Davis, freshman Keaton Taylor, and senior Dilpreet Sandhu ended the contest with one shot each to round out the Muskie offensive effort.
- The Panthers were led by Rodney Walker and Devin Stowe who each tallied one goal apiece.
- Jared Scarlett made 13 saves and allowed four goals in 90 minutes of work between the pipes for Pitt.-Bradford.

Muskingum will be in action next Saturday, September 17, when they host Kenyon College at the North Athletic Turf Field. Kick-off is set for 2:00 PM.
