Men’s Soccer tops Waynesburg for Home Opening win

The Muskingum men's soccer team won a hard-fought battle over Waynesburg in their home opener, 2-1.

The Basics

How It Happened
• With 5:19 left in the first half, the Muskies found the scoreboard via a goal by sophomore Morgan McKenna with the assist going to senior Chris Lytus.
• McKenna's goal would be the only offense for the opening half as Muskingum took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
• The Muskies struck again in the 73rd minute with a goal by sophomore Trevor Firkel off an assist by junior Edwin Palou.
• The Yellow Jackets cut the Muskie lead in half with a goal by Logan Corradi in the 82nd minute, which completed scoring for the match.

• The Muskies were led by freshman Zach Merchesano with two saves.
• Muskingum tallied 20 shots with eight being on goal.
• Waynesburg notched 13 shots with three on goal.
