Men's soccer stands strong against 2nd-ranked Kenyon

The Muskingum men's soccer team battled for 90 minutes against 2nd-ranked Kenyon on Tuesday night in McConagha Stadium. In the end, the Lords escaped New Concord with a 2-0 win.

The Basics

  • Notes: The contest marked Muskingum's second game in the last seven days against an NSCAA Top 25 ranked school. Last Wednesday, the Muskies hosted then 12th-ranked Denison.

How It Happened

  • Kenyon took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on Tony Amolo's unassisted goal. Amolo had three shots on the night.
  • The Lords completed the scoring in the 49th minute on Dalton Eudy's deflected strike in the box that found the back of the net. Eudy ended the game with four shots.
  • Muskingum was paced by the freshmen duo of Chase Michael Hilliard and Gage Toy who each registered two strikes.
  • Freshman Brock Lam, freshman Neil Edwards and senior David Gebhardt all logged one shot.
  • Kenyon ended the outing with a 28-7 advantage in shots and 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
  • Woo Jeon led Kenyon with five shots.

Between The Pipes

  • Muskie Freshman Gabriel Kral played 90 outstanding minutes in frame and made nine saves and allowed two goals.
  • Sam Clougher made one save en route to the shutout.
