Men's lacrosse concludes inaugural season

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team lost its season finale at Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll on Saturday night, 11-2.

The contest marked the final outing for seniors Joey AlfordMatt AllenCameron GodfreyCooper ConradBrock YackeyJalen McMahanNathan CaplanJosh Foster and John Macre.

Junior David DeGood and freshman Ian McGougan each tallied a goal for the Muskies. Freshman Tucker Haas recorded an assist.

McGougan led the team with five shots, while junior Jason Hammond had four shots and DeGood added three.

Haas logged a team-high four ground balls and Yackey netted three.

Freshman Phillip Dappen played all 60 minutes in frame and made 17 saves.

John Carroll (9-6, 3-3) was paced by Collin Rice who scored three goals. Declan O'Grady added two assists and Logan Calhoun registered two assists.

The Blue Streaks scored twice in the opening period and added four in the second to take a 6-0 lead into the break. 

In the second half, John Carroll outscored the Muskies 5-2. McGougan notched a Muskie goal in the third and DeGood scored in the fourth.

The Muskies concluded their inaugural season with a record of 3-11 overall and 0-6 mark in the OAC.
