Senior Brenton Franks won medalist honors in the 35-golfer field with a score of 72 to lead the Muskingum men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at Zanesville Country Club on Monday. The team win is the first for the Muskies since 2003.
The Basics
- Senior Brenton Franks shot an even-par 72 on Monday afternoon. He carded the lone eagle of the event and had three birdies. Franks led the field in par 3 scoring (-1) and par 5 scoring (-2).
- The invitational took place at Zanesville Country Club.
- As a team, Muskingum shot a combined team score of 306.
- The Muskies finished first out of the five-team field. The Muskies edged Capital by one stroke.
On the Course
- Freshman Cameron Henry finished in sixth with a score of 76. Henry tied for sixth in par 3 scoring (+1) and led the invitational with 14 pars.
- Sophomore Chase Karling, senior Caleb Barnette, and senior Preston Yeater each logged in a score of 79 to finish tied for 15th.
- Sophomore Jackson Williams finished the event in 23rd-place, with a score of 80.
