The Muskingum men's golf team finished eighth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships held at River Greens Golf Course Friday-Sunday.
The Muskies carded a four-round total 1,290 (319-330-316-325) and were paced by senior Jacob Van Leeuwen. He shot a 312 (79-80-75-78) to finish tied for 15th in the 45-player field, which just missed All-OAC honors by one stroke. Van Leeuwen finished fourth in par 4 scoring at 3-over and finished in the top 20 of the field in par 5 scoring.
Junior Josh Blaustein was tied for 30th with a 321 (80-79-81-81). He finished tied for 12th in the field for par 5 scoring. Junior Gordie German finished 38th with a 327 (79-84-78-86).
Junior Christian Taylor ended the tournament in 41st place with a 333 (81-87-85-80) and junior Derek Crum rounded out the Muskie effort with a 342 (85-89-82-86) to place 44th.
Muskingum ended the championship with 163 pars and 31 birdies.
Otterbein won the team championship with a 1,199 (288-302-302-307). Otterbein's Kurt Fortman won medalist honors with a 294 (72-74-73-75).
