McDonald set for USBC Nationals in Las Vegas

Muskingum junior bowler Ethan McDonald is set to compete at the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) held at South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Tuesday, April 18 thru Saturday, April 22. McDonald is the first Muskingum bowler to qualify for the USBC nationals in program history.

McDonald punched his ticket into the national championships with a fourth-place finish at the ISC sectional tournament hosted at Smynra Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee. McDonald tallied a six-game series of 1348 to finish fourth out of the 182-bowler field. McDonald will be among the 24 qualifiers heading to the USBC Intercollegiate National Singles Championship

"Ethan has had a very good season," said Muskingum Head Coach Doug Smith. "Ethan had several top-five finishes this year. I know he didn't get to win a tournament, which was a little disappointing to him, but he's had a very outstanding year. His mental game is on point for what he's got to do, and he's doing a very good job that way, and I feel like he has a great shot competing at the national level."

The Intercollegiate Singles Championships are slated to begin on Tuesday, April 18, at 9:30 am, with the finals set to be played on Saturday, April 22, at 8:30 am.
