McDonald advances to Nationals, Bowling Competes at ISC & ITC Sectionals

The Muskingum bowling teams competed in the Intercollegiate Single Championships (ISC) and Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) sectionals at Smynra Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee. On the men's side, the Muskies finished 14th out of a 20-team field. Junior Ethan McDonald finished fourth and punched his ticket to the ISC nationals hosted in Las Vegas. On the women's side, Muskingum finished 13th out of a 17-team field. Sophomore Hailey Yingst led Muskingum finishing 31st. 

 Notables

  • Junior Ethan McDonald placed 4th at the ISC Sectional Tournament, which was highlighted by bowling a perfect 300 in his third game. McDonald's fourth-place finish advances him to the ISC National Tournament hosted at South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, on April 17-22.
  • The Intercollegiate Singles Championships features the top 24 men and top 24 women who advance out of four sectional qualifiers to compete for individual national titles.

Men's Team

As a team, Muskingum finished 14th out of a 20-team field, knocking down a total of 12084 pins.

  • McDonald carded a six-game series of 1348 (213-204-300-268-176-187) to finish fourth out of a 182-bowler field.
  • Freshman Brody Wildenmann rolled a six-game series of 1238 (169-212-154-237-244-222) to finish 26th.
  • Junior Andrew Amore placed 43rd tallying a six-game series of 1199 (235-201-170-195-214-184).
  • Sophomore Evan Thro bowled a six-game series of 1182 (167-188-150-234-210-233) to finish 55th.

Women's Team

As a team, Muskingum finished 13th out of a 17-team field, knocking down a total of 11014 pins.

  • Sophomore Hailey Yingst carded a six-game series of 1137 (223-173-174-162-222-183) to place 31st out of a 146-bowler field.
  • Sophomore Kelsey Wilson rolled a six-game series of 1023 (194-185-166-156-179-143) to finish 88th. 
  • Freshman Elizabeth Springsteen placed 118th tallying a six-game series of 970 (171-195-138-151-141-174).
  • Sophomore Kaylee Hauck bowled a six-game series of 960 (160-171-135-140-190-164) to finish tied for 123rd.
