Men’s Bowling ranked 14th in USBC Bowling Poll

The Muskingum men's bowling team was ranked 14th out of 177 teams in the United States Bowling Congress national poll released on Tuesday.

Muskingum has won two tournament titles out of five tier-two events and finished fourth, third, and second in the other three. The Muskies captured championships at the season-opening Welcome Back Tournament in Columbus and the opening Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament in Columbus.

The top point-earning performance for the team this season happened last weekend at the highly competitive USBC Tier 1 Kegel ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic in Addison, Illinois. The Muskies finished second of 71 teams, earning 314 points toward their season total.

Junior Ethan McDonald leads the Muskies with a stellar 208.188 average, with six top-25 finishes. McDonald also leads the team with five top-10 finishes and is currently ranked 52nd out of 558 bowlers in the country.

Freshman Brody Wildenmann continues to have an impressive campaign with a 206.705 average, with six top-25 finishes. Wildenmann ranks 62nd in the country and 11th among 175 rookie bowlers.

Sophomore Evan Thro is averaging 205.114 this season, with six top-25 finishes, three top-10 finishes, two top-five finishes, and one first-place finish.

Muskingum returns to action on Saturday, February 4, when they will compete in the Muskie Mash. The event is set for a 10AM start and is hosted at Legacy Lanes in Coshocton.
