The Muskingum men's bowling team received votes in the first National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Poll of the 2022-23 USBC Collegiate bowling season. The NCBCA Coaches' Team Poll is a presentation of the top 20 USBC Collegiate bowling programs determined by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA).
The Muskies are off to a solid start this season as they have captured two team championships and have one third-place finish during their first five events. Muskingum won the Welcome Back Tournament event in Columbus, with a combined score of 9391. The Muskies also won an Ohio Bowling Conference event with a team score of 7381.
This year, Muskingum has had two bowlers crowned as tournament champions. Sophomore Evan Thro finished first out of a 173-bowler field at an OBC event. Thro's dominant performance saw him set the school record in a four-game series registering a score of 1021, while also tying a high game record of 300. Freshman Kenny Haslip captured the individual crown out of a 158-bowler field with a five-game series of 1078 at the latest event.
Muskingum returns to action on December 19-22, at the Lehigh Invitational in Allentown, Pa.
