Men’s Basketball stumbles vs. Heidelberg

The Muskingum men's basketball team fell in OAC action to Heidelberg 87-67 inside the Steele Center on Saturday afternoon.

  • Muskingum recognized its 2022 Hall of Fame Class at halftime. The honorees include J.R. Fox '90 (Track & Field/Football), Steve Hare '94 (Football), Kari Hoying Winters '08 (Softball), Jessica McKenzie Sweeney '09 (Volleyball/Women's Basketball), and Brock Whiteman '10 (Baseball).

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by freshman Kaelan Pulliam who drilled five three-points en route to tallying a team-high 17 points. Pulliam also pulled down four rebounds and recorded two blocks.
  • Senior Noah Begue knocked down four triples and tallied 14 points for the Muskies, while sophomore Zaveon Croff finished with 10 points.
  • Junior Bradley Russell registered six points; while freshman Duane Davis notched five points, five assists, and five rebounds.
  • Junior Luken Hill also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds for the Muskies.
  • Heidelberg was led by Emmanuel Perdue with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Isaiah Young tallied 16 points for the Student Princes.
  • As a team, the Muskies shot 23-for-58 (39.7%) from the floor, while Heidelberg finished 33-for-64 (51.6%) from the field.
  • Muskingum finished 16-for-33 (48.5%) from three-point range, while Heidelberg shot 8-for-19 (42.1%) from downtown.
  • Heidelberg finished with a slim 37-35 edge in rebounds, while Muskingum finished with 16 assists compared to 11 for the Student Princes.
  • Heidelberg forced 15 Muskingum turnovers and converted them into 25 points, while the Student Princes only coughed the ball up five times which led to 11 points for Muskingum.
  • Heidelberg dominated play down low, finishing with a 46-10 edge in points in the paint; and they held Muskingum to zero second-chance points.
