The Muskingum men's basketball team fell to Otterbein on Saturday afternoon, 84-74.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (5-14 Overall, 2-10 OAC), Otterbein (12-6 Overall, 6-5 OAC)

How it Happened
- Out of the gate, Otterbein's hot shooting built them an early 12-0 lead.
- Continuing their momentum, the Cardinals stretched their lead to 20-6 with 10 minutes left in the first half.
- Despite Muskingum trimming the Otterbein lead down to seven on multiple occasions, the Cardinals would stretch their lead back to 12 at the break.
- Out of halftime, the Muskies turned up the intensity and trimmed the Cardinal lead down to six with 17 minutes remaining.
- Despite Otterbein stretching their lead back to 14 with 13 minutes remaining, the Muskies managed to use a 14-5 run and cut the Cardinal lead down to five with just under 10 minutes left.
- However, the Muskies would only manage to cut the Otterbein lead down to five on one more occasion, as the Cardinals went on to win 84-74.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by senior Alex Masinelli who logged 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore Bradley Russell also tallied 21 points, and he chipped in seven rebounds as well.
- Freshman DJ Donnell also got into double figures for the Muskies with 12 points.
- Otterbein was led by Dallas Patrick with 22 points.
- On the afternoon, Muskingum went 23-of-53 (43.4%) from the field, while Otterbein shot 31-of-54 (57.4%),
- The Muskies shot 6-of-19 (31.6%) from deep, while the Cardinals went 8-of-14 (57.1%) from three-point range.
- Muskingum outrebounded Otterbein 30-27, while the Cardinals edged the Muskies 34-26 on points in the paint.
