The Muskingum men's basketball team dropped a road non-conference game versus Waynesburg on Wednesday night, 81-65.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (2-6), Waynesburg (6-2)

How it Happened
- After trailing 5-0 to open the game, the Muskies would go on an 8-2 run to grab an 8-7 lead with 15 minutes left in the first half.
- However, Waynesburg would then go on a 15-0 run to capture a 22-10 lead midway through half number one.
- The Muskies would trim the Yellow Jacket lead down to six with just under eight minutes remaining but would never get closer than that as Waynesburg carried a 37-25 lead into the break.
- The second half saw both teams play evenly through much of the frame.
- Down the stretch, Waynesburg would open up an 18-point lead, their largest of the game, and eventually capture their 81-65 victory.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by senior Alex Masinelli, who tallied 26 points, five rebounds, and a team-high five assists.
- Junior Noah Begue notched 14 points while also grabbing four rebounds.
- Senior Noah Tomlinson also got into double figures with 10 points and four rebounds.
- Sophomore Bradley Russell chipped in eight points, and he also snatched a team-high 10 boards.
- The Yellow Jackets were led by Matt Popeck, who scored 35 points, while Ryan Felberg chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.
- Muskingum shot 25-of-70 (35.7%) from the field, while Waynesburg went 25-of-48 (52.1%).
- The Muskies shot 8-of-35 (22.9%) from deep, while the Yellow Jackets hit 10-of-17 (58.8%) from beyond the arc.
- The Muskies outrebounded Waynesburg 38-34, while both teams had 14 assists each.
