The Muskingum men's basketball team dropped a road OAC matchup with Otterbein, 82-72.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (2-5 Overall, 0-3 OAC), Otterbein (6-1 Overall, 2-0 OAC)

How it Happened
- The Muskies found themselves down 11-0 after the first five minutes of the game, but were able to battle back and cut the Cardinal lead to 13-10 midway through the first half.
- Behind hot shooting, Otterbein would push their lead back up to double digits at 27-17 with five minutes left in the first half.
- The Muskies would cut the lead down to seven with just over three minutes remaining, but Otterbein would proceed to go on a 13-2 run to close the half and carry an 18-point lead into the break.
- The second-half saw Otterbein build their largest lead of the game (20) early on, but the Muskies would battle back and cut the lead down to 12 with 11 minutes remaining.
- However, the Muskies would not be able to cut the Cardinal lead to single digits for the remainder of the game, as Otterbein secured the 82-72 victory.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by seniors Carson Carter and Noah Tomlinson who each tallied 11 points. Tomlinson also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists for Muskingum.
- Senior Alex Masinelli and junior Tanner Gensler also added 10 points for the Muskies. Gensler snagged a game-high 10 rebounds to secure the double-double as well.
- Freshman Alex Coffey chipped in eight points for Muskingum, while freshman Charlie Bean added seven.
- Otterbein was led by Dominic Cantrella who notched 13 points for the Cardinals.
- The Muskies finished the evening shooting 23-of-62 (37.1%) from the field compared to 23-of-51 (45.1%) for Otterbein.
- The Muskies outrebounded the Cardinals 39-31, while Otterbein tallied 16 assists compared to 10 for Muskingum.
- Otterbein outscored the Muskies 23-5 on fast break points.
