The Muskingum men's basketball team fell in a physical battle against rival Marietta on Saturday night, 95-81.
The Basics

Inside The Numbers
- Senior Alex Masinelli led the Muskies with 19 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
- Junior Trey Singleton added 11 points off the bench for Muskingum.
- Junior Da'Ray Menefield and junior MJ Smith each chipped in nine points for the Muskies on the night.
- As a team, Muskingum shot 31-of-64 (48.4%) from the field and went 9-of-24 (37.5%) from the three-point line.
- Lukas Isaly led the Pioneers with 22 points and handed out a team-high six assists.
- Tim Kreeger added 21 points and snatched a team-high seven rebounds for Marietta.
- As a team, the Pioneers went 28-of-62 (46.8%) from the floor and shot 7-of-22 (31.8%) from behind the arc.
The Difference
- Both teams battled back-and-forth in the first half, with the Pioneers taking a 40-32 lead into halftime.
- The Muskies started the second half hitting three straight three-pointers from sophomore Tanner Gensler, sophomore Noah Begue, and Smith to take the lead, 41-40.
- With five minutes remaining and the score 75-70, Marietta built their lead with a late 19-7 surge to take control of the game.
- The Pioneers ended the outing with a 15-3 edge in fast-break points.
- Marietta took advantage of 11 Muskie turnovers to gain a 14-5 edge in points off turnovers.
