The Muskingum men's basketball team slipped to rival Marietta on Friday night in an OAC battle, 87-63.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (2-3, 2-3), Marietta (2-1, 2-1)

Inside The Numbers
- Sophomore Noah Begue led the Muskies with 13 points on the night.
- Junior Trey Singleton added eight points off the bench.
- Senior Alex Masinelli, Junior MJ Smith, and Sophomore Tanner Gensler all chipped in seven points for Muskingum during the contest.
- Masinelli also grabbed a team-high ten rebounds and led the team in assists with four.
- As a team, the Muskies shot 23-of-60 (38.3%) from the floor and went 5-of-25 (20.0%) from the behind the arc.
- Leading the Pioneers was Tim Kreeger with 20 points while also adding five steals.
- Jason Ellis added 15 points and dished out six assists for Marietta.
- As a team, the Pioneers went 36-of-77 (46.8%) from the field and shot 8-of-27 (29.6%) from the three-point line.
The Difference
- The start of the game saw the Muskies lead for the first nine minutes of the half. The Pioneers then took the lead, 18-17, at the 11:09 mark and would not look back from there.
- The contest saw Muskingum commit 20 turnovers to Marietta's eight and have the Pioneers turn those turnovers into 31 points.
- Marietta took control of the paint scoring 50 points during the contest.
