Dempsey named First Team All-OAC

Muskingum men's basketball junior guard Marcus Dempsey was named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

Dempsey ended the year leading the OAC and ranking second nationally in Division III averaging 30.6 points per game. He also averaged 5.3 rebounds and a career-best 4.2 assists per contest. He set career-high marks for total points in a season (764), three-point field goals made (77), free throws made (195), free throws attempted (235), free throw percentage (.830), steals (39), rebounds (132) and assists (104). The OAC honored Dempsey during the season for his outstanding play by naming him OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

This year, Dempsey became Muskingum's all-time leading scorer and the first-ever Muskie to score 2,000 career points. He ended his junior campaign with 2,118 career points, which ranks 10th all-time in OAC scoring history.

Dempsey was recently recognized for his hard work and dedication in the classroom by being named OAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month for January. He was also honored with Division III Academic First-Team All-District accolades by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This marks the third time that Dempsey has been tabbed All-OAC (Freshman of the Year and Honorable Mention 2016-17, First Team All-OAC 2017-18).
