The Muskingum men's basketball team was stung by Baldwin Wallace in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Saturday, 81-63.

• Junior Marcus Dempsey scored a game-high 31 points to raise his career total to 1,490 points. He currently ranks fifth all-time in scoring at Muskingum.

• Dempsey scored 31 points on 7-of-23 shooting and a 12-of-15 clip from the free-throw line. He also added three rebounds and two assists.
• Sophomore Trey Singleton chipped in 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
• Junior Alex Masinelli had six points and team-best 10 rebounds.
• Luke Schaefer led Baldwin Wallace with 17 points on 10-of-16 shooting.
• Tyler Colombo added 10 points and six rebounds for the Yellow Jackets.
• Muskingum ended the outing shooting 20-of-54 (.370) from the field, which included hitting 7-of-17 from behind the arc.

Game Highlights

The first half saw an even battle between the Muskies and Yellow Jackets with the game heading into the break knotted at 28-28. The seesaw contest continued through the opening eight minutes of the second frame with Baldwin Wallace holding a 42-41 edge. The Yellow Jackets then used an 8-0 run over the next three minutes to extend its margin to 50-41. Baldwin Wallace continued its surge and pushed its lead to 55-43 with 8:42 to play. The Yellow Jackets maintained their double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the game to secure the OAC win.
