Marsh and Geller post career-best numbers vs. JCU

Muskingum freshman Jarrell Marsh scored a career-high 34 points and sophomore Jacob Geller added a career-best 21 points to lead the Muskies against seventh-ranked John Carroll on Saturday in the Rec Center. Despite Marsh's and Geller's performances, the Blue Streaks survived the Muskie upset bid and exited New Concord with a 97-91 win.

  • Marsh hit 13-of-23 shots, which included five three-point baskets, and made 3-of-3 from the free throw line en route to recording his career-best 34 points. He also registered six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal.
  • Sophomore Jacob Geller posted a career-high 21 points on 7-of-11 three-point shooting. The school record for three-point shots in a game is nine - which was set by Justin Clifford during the 2001-02 season against John Carroll.
  • As a team, Muskingum made a season-best 17 three-pointers on 42 attempts.
  • Junior Joshua Keyes paced the team with 11 rebounds and also had seven points and three assists.
  • Muskingum ended the game shooting .452 (33-of-73) from the field. 
  • Doug Caputo led John Carroll with 20 points.
  • Simon Kucharewicz a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • The Blue Streaks ended the outing with a 50-26 advantage in points in the paint and a 51-40 edge in rebounds.

  • Muskingum led 40-39 at the break.
  • John Carroll took the lead for good (81-80) on a Caputo basket with 4:13 to play and built its lead to 89-83 with 2:22 to play.
