The Muskingum men's basketball team slipped in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener at Marietta on Tuesday night, 78-67.
The Basics

First Half
- Freshman Jalen Paige led the Muskies with five points, three rebounds and two assists.
- Junior Joshua Glass and senior Cody Seiler each added four points.
- Muskingum hit 6-of-28 (.214) from the field.
- A.J. Edwards led the Pioneers with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
- Marietta shot .333 (13-of-39) from the floor.
- The Pioneers grabbed control in the opening half with a 20-4 run over a nine-minute span to take a 26-9 lead with 7:51 on the clock.
- Marietta led 31-20 at the half.
Second Half
- Freshman Jarrell Marsh led Muskingum with 14 points.
- Paige had seven points and Glass added six points and four rebounds.
- Muskingum made 15-of-34 (.441) from the field.
- Luis Garcia had 15 points to pace Marietta.
- The Pioneers led by as many as 23 (65-42) with 4:57 to play.
Post Game
- Marsh led Muskingum with 16 points and seven rebounds.
- Paige ended the night with 12 points and three assists.
- Glass had 10 points and six rebounds.
- Muskingum shot a perfect 14-of-14 from the free-throw line.
- The Muskies shot .339 (21-of-62) from the field.
- Garcia led Marietta with 23 points.
- Edwards added 15 points and six rebounds.
- The Pioneers shot .397 (29-of-73) from the floor.
- Marietta ended the game with an 18-4 advantage in second-chance points and a 49-38 edge in rebounds.
