Paige erupts for 25 points in Muskies' loss

Muskingum freshman Jalen Paige erupted for a career-high 25 points in an 81-73 loss at Bethany on Tuesday night.

  • After the opening 12 minutes of play, the Bison held an 18-16 lead.
  • Bethany closed the final eight minutes of play on an 18-10 run to take a 36-26 lead into the break.
  • Paige led the Muskies with five points and four rebounds.
  • Junior Brenden Mathews added five points to the Muskies effort.
  • Junior Joshua Keyes grabbed nine rebounds.

  • A Paige basket at the 7:23 mark tied the game at 54-54.
  • Bethany then used a 5-0 spurt to take the lead for good with 6:22 remaining.
  • Paige led the Muskies in the second frame with a 20-point outburst on 5-of-7 shooting and a 9-of-9 performance from the free throw line.
  • Muskingum connected on 13-of-13 free throws in the half and shot .556 (15-of-27) from the floor.
  • Calique Jones led Bethany with 11 points.
