Kimble and Seiler lead Muskies

Muskingum senior Logan Kimble scored 25 points and junior Cody Seiler logged a double-double to led the Muskies in a 70-63 home loss against Wilmington on Wednesday night in the Recreation Center. 

With the setback, Muskingum now stands at 6-18 overall and 3-14 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Muskies will conclude their season on Saturday, February 21 when they host John Carroll. The Senior Day game is slated for 3:00 p.m.

Kimble, who has scored 1,043 points during his Muskie career, connected on 10 shots from the field and four from the free throw line. He also added six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.

Seiler registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds and junior Christian Keller had nine points and six assists. 

Sophomore Joshua Keyes grabbed nine boards and scored eight points to round out the Muskie effort.

The Muskies ended the game shooting .433 (26-of-60) from the floor and held a decisive 45-19 advantage in rebounds. 

Wilmington (11-12, 8-9) was paced by Christian Jones who scored 19 points and by Jonathan Bibbs who scored 15. Dwight Johnson added seven assists.

The Quakers shot .420 (21-of-50) from the field and used 24 Muskingum turnovers and a 25-of-26 free throw shooting performance to overcome the Muskies' dominance on the glass.

Wilmington never trailed in the opening half and took a 32-27 lead into the break.

The Quakers opened the second half with four straight points to take a 36-27 lead. The Muskies responded with a 17-4 surge to grab a 44-40 lead with 12:11 on the clock. Wilmington used an 8-4 run to tie the contest at 48-48 with 9:46 to play. The game remained a one possession game until the Quakers scored the final six points in the last minute-plus to seal the win.
