Men's Basketball beats W&J in overtime

The Muskingum men's basketball team notched an overtime win at Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, 74-68.

Sophomore Joshua Keyes led four Muskies in double figures with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Junior Christian Keller scored a season-high 13 points, freshman Jacob Geller added a career-best 12 points and sophomore Joshua Glass had 10 points.

Junior Cody Seiler grabbed a season-high nine rebounds.

Muskingum (2-3) shot .359 (23-of-64) from the floor and used a 27-10 edge in bench points to secure the post-holiday win. The Muskie defense forced Washington & Jefferson into 24 turnovers.

Washington & Jefferson (0-5) was led by Mike Resnick who scored 21 points and by Nick Burk who scored 20 points and snared 13 rebounds.

The Presidents ended the outing shooting .424 (25-of-59).

Washington & Jefferson took a 29-22 lead into the break.

The Muskies used a strong second half to erase a seven-point halftime deficit to force the extra frame with the game tied at 61-61.

In the extra session, the Muskies used a 5-0 run fueled by a three-point shot by senior Logan Kimble and a pair of Keyes' free throws to take the lead for good at 68-63 with 2:01 to play.

Muskingum next opens Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, December 3 at home against Marietta. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
