Muskingum suffers setback at Bethany

The Muskingum men's basketball team suffered an 85-62 setback at Bethany on Monday night.

Senior Dave Brown and junior Logan Kimble paced the Muskie attack with 16 points each.

Sophomore Cody Seiler added a 12-point, seven-rebound night.

Muskingum (7-6) ended the night shooting .481 (25-of-52) from the floor. The Muskies were haunted by 22 turnovers, which the Bison used to generate a 31-13 advantage in points off turnovers. 

Bethany (12-3) was paced by Ramel Young's double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Jackson also added 17 points.

The Bison shot .579 (33-of-57) from the field and recorded 19 assists.

The opening half was a hard-fought battle that saw Bethany take a 41-35 lead into the break.

In the second frame, a three-point shot by Brown trimmed the Muskie gap to 44-42 with 16:36 to play.

Following a Bethany timeout, the Bison went on a 17-2 over the next four minutes to extend its lead to 61-44 and take control of the game with 12:15 to play. 

Muskingum next travels to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Capital on Wednesday, January 15. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
