Eight Muskies earn Football All-OAC accolades

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that eight Muskingum football players were named All-OAC honorees following their incredible 2024 season. Headlining the honorees were senior wide receiver Travanti Keitt and sophomore wide receiver Davion Grant who were both named All-OAC First Team. Senior tight end Gannon Unger, junior offensive lineman Foster Wertz, senior defensive lineman Toleo Malone, and junior linebacker Martavious Johnson were honored with All-OAC Second Team. Senior defensive back Qwestin Litz and junior quarterback Garrett Gurney were both awarded All-OAC Honorable Mention.

Keitt finished the season with 66 receptions for 818 yards with six touchdowns. The 66 receptions finished second all-time for receptions in a season at Muskingum and the 818 receiving yards were sixth all-time in a season. Keitt added 335 return yards on 18 returns this season. He also logged a perfect 5-for-5 throwing the ball for 92 passing yards and a touchdown. Keitt was fourth in receiving yards and third in receptions throughout the OAC. 

Grant set the single-season record for Muskingum in receptions and receiving yards. He had 71 receptions and 1,123 receiving yards to lead the Muskies in both categories. He added eight receiving touchdowns to his season totals. Grant also logged 203 return yards on 12 returns. Grant led the OAC in receiving yards, finished second in receptions, and tied for third in receiving touchdowns.

Unger brought in 30 receptions for 272 yards and two scores. He finished tied for 19th in receptions and 32nd in receiving yards throughout the OAC.

Wertz guided the Muskie offensive line this season. He helped lead the Muskie offense to the fourth most yards per game in the OAC with 396.2 total yards per game.

Malone tallied 67 tackles this season, including 37 solo stops. Malone also recorded 11 tackles for loss and three sacks. He forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles on the season. Malone finished eighth in tackles in the OAC.

Johnson led the Muskies with 88 total tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He was responsible for three forced fumbles and came away with one interception. Johnson finished third in tackles and tied for second in forced fumbles throughout the OAC. 

Litz tallied 55 total tackles, including five tackles for loss. He has also broken up seven passes and snagged one interception. Litz finished tied for fifth in broken up passes in the OAC.

Gurney tallied 1,471 passing yards on a 69.5 completion percentage. He aslo added 12 touchdowns through the air. Gurney stayed mobile with 90 rushes for 234 yards. Gurney tacked on seven touchdowns on the ground for the Muskies. Gurney finished fifth in passing yards and tied for ninth for rushing touchdowns in the OAC.
