The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum junior quarterback Garrett Gurney and senior defensive back Devin Roebuck have been named OAC Offensive and Special Teams Football Players of the Week, respectively.
Gurney, the OAC Offensive Player of the Week, completed 24-of-32 (75%) passes while throwing for 274 yards and rushing for eight yards. Gurney orchestrated the offense with five touchdown passes, each of which found a different receiver in the game.
Roebuck, the OAC Special Teams Player of the Week, recorded the first score of his career with a blocked extra-point attempt returned for two points. Roebuck added two tackles in the contest to help lock down the defense.
Both performances helped improve the Muskies to 5-4 on the year.
