The Muskingum football team defeated Capital and earned another OAC win in their final regular-season game on Saturday evening, 51-14.

• The game marked the final contest for seniors Yannis Dailey, Caleb Gaiters, Quinton Gabbard, Darius Hayes-Carruth, Bernard Johnson, Trocon Keneah, and Tim Ousley.

Notables

• Senior defensive lineman Tim Ousley ended his tenure ranked first all-time in career sacks with 27 and ranked eighth all-time in career tackles with 263.
• Senior wide receiver Darius Hayes-Carruth concluded his career ranked fifth all-time in receiving yards with 1,440.
• Junior quarterback Brody Hahn ended his third year ranked first all-time in total offense with 6,376 yards (4,902 passing/1,474 rushing). He also ranks first all-time in career passing attempts with 792 and is tied for first all-time with Jeff Morris (1997-00) and Jake Burns (2007-10) in passing touchdowns with 30.
• Sophomore kicker Gavin Costello is tied for first all-time with Vern Albery (1966) for field goals made in a season with 11.

The Breakdown

• The Muskies took the opening kickoff and orchestrated a 4-play, 74-yard drive that ended with junior quarterback Brody Hahn connecting with senior wide receiver Darius Hayes-Carruth on 51-yard pass for a touchdown. Sophomore kicker Gavin Costello ended the drive making the extra point to the Muskies an early 7-0 lead.
• The Muskingum defense forced a fumble on the next possession and ended with the Muskies extending their lead to 14-0 off a trick play that had junior running back Cameron Near completing a 27-yard pass to Hahn for the score.
• Capital cut the deficit to 14-7 off a 24-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell Machock to Mike Smith.
• Costello increased the Muskie lead to 17-7 after making a 37-yard field goal before the end of the first quarter and then made a 39-yard field goal after an 11-play, 70-yard drive to make it 20-7.
• The Muskies finished off the first half with a four-yard touchdown run by Near to give them a 27-7 lead going into halftime. Near finished the game with nine carries for 92 yards and one touchdown.
• The Crusaders would score on their opening drive of the second half off a 19-yard touchdown pass from Justin McClelland to David Burnett to make it 27-14.
• Muskingum would add three more touchdowns and another Costello field goal from 40-yards out.
• Hahn would connect with sophomore tight end Jacob Quinn from 25-yards out for his second passing touchdown on the day and would later scamper for a 32-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
• Senior running back Bernard Johnson would score on a two-yard touchdown run just before the end of the third quarter.

• Muskingum ended the game converting 7-of-13 (.54) third-down conversions and committed zero turnovers on offense.
• Hahn led the offense with 377 total yards and four total touchdowns. He went 14-of-27 for 229 yards and two touchdowns, led the team in rushing with 13 carries, 120 yards, and one touchdown, and caught a touchdown pass for 24 yards.
• Freshman running back Jeffery Curtis and sophomore running back Justin Bell added 96 rush yards combined.
• Freshman wide receiver Ja'Lin Goodman led the Muskie receivers with four catches for 73 yards.
• Quinn and freshman wide receiver Tyler Heinecke each hauled in two catches for 32 and 33 yards.
• Hayes-Carruth ended the day with one grab for 51 yards and one touchdown.
• The Muskie offense totaled 592 yards, the most since they had 591 yards in 1999 against Hiram.
• Senior linebacker Trocon Keneah led the Muskie defense with nine total tackles and had one fumble recovery.
• Junior defensive back Brian Brown added seven stops and earned one interception.
• Senior defensive end Tim Ousley notched five hits, half a sack, and one-and-a-half tackles for loss.
• Costello went 3-for-4 with field goals and made all extra-point attempts.
