Esports falls in Rainbow Six Siege National Championship

Muskingum's Rainbow Six Siege black team fell 3-1 to Fisher College in the ECAC National Championship on Monday night. This marks the third straight season Muskingum has advance to the championship contest.

Muskingum finishes the season 10-2 overall after entering the postseason as the number one overall seed. In the championship contest, Muskingum fell behind early after suffering a 7-2 loss on map one. Holding the momentum, Fisher secured map two 7-1 to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match. Despite trailing, Muskingum showed fight, winning the third map 7-5. In a tightly contested battle, Fisher secured an 8-7 win in map four to win the match 3-1.

The Muskies have cemented themselves as a dominant force in Rainbow Six Siege across the ECAC. Muskingum has advanced to the National Championship game each of the last three seasons, and this year they had two teams qualify for the playoffs. As a program, Muskingum has captured three ECAC National Championships, winning two in Fortnite and one in Madden.

The Muskies will look to add to their championship total on Tuesday, December 13, when Madden Crawford competes in the ECAC National Championship. Crawford will take on Randolph-Macon at 8:00 p.m. as he looks to secure his second Madden national title.
