
The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum senior outfielder Tobie Teke and freshman pitcher Jake Valentine have been named the OAC Baseball Players of the Week.
Teke, the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week, batted an outstanding .692 over four games through the week while adding a .778 on-base percentage. Teke tallied nine hits and was walked four times as he was responsible for four runs scored and three RBI's. He launched one home run as he posted a .923 slugging percentage. Teke also stole seven bases in his time on base this week.
Valentine, the OAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, threw the first complete game of the season for the Muskies in his start against Marietta that saw Muskingum come away with a 2-1 victory. He allowed only three hits and one run scored with five strikeouts as the Muskies pulled out the win in game one. Valentine's masterful performance helped propel Muskingum to its first sweep against Marietta since the 2010 season.
Both performances helped move the Muskies to 18-6 on the year.
