The Muskingum baseball team swept rival Marietta in the OAC doubleheader for the first time since the 2010 season. In game one, freshman Jake Valentine led the Muskies with a complete game on the mound, where the Muskies pulled out a 2-1 win. In game two, led by a dominant team performance at the plate in the fourth inning that tallied five runs, the Muskies finished the sweep with an 8-5 win.

Notables 

• Muskingum's win in game one was the first win against Marietta since the 2019 season, which led to Muskingum's first sweep since the 2010 season after their win in game two. 
• Today was Baseball's One Love game.

Game 1  

• The Muskies scored two runs, tallied nine hits, and had one RBI. 
• Sophomore Grant Mellerson led the Muskie offense with two runs scored and two hits. 
• Freshman Jasper Owens added two hits and one RBI for the Muskies. 
• Senior Tobie Teke tallied two hits. 
• Sophomore Aiden Reis, sophomore Conner Thamann, and senior Weston Melick each logged one hit. 
• Freshman Jake Valentine earned the win by pitching a complete game for the Muskies. Valentine finished the day with five strikeouts and only allowed one run and three hits.  

Game 2

• The Muskies finished with eight runs, 11 hits, and seven RBI's. 
• Teke led the Muskies with one run scored, three hits, and two RBI's. 
• Mellerson added one run scored, one hit, and two RBI's. 
• Melick recorded one run scored and two hits. 
• Junior Sam Palmieri, Reis, and Thamann each logged one run scored. 
• Freshman Lex Castaneda tallied one hit and three RBI's 
• Sophomore Benny Hess logged two hits.  
• Junior Jake Roshau started on the mound for the Muskies. Roshau pitched 4 innings and pitched five strikeouts. 
• Freshman Coleman Harvey pitched 2.1 innings, adding a strikeout. Harvey was credited with the win, bringing his record on the mound to 3-0.  
• Junior Max Vosters finished the game in relief. Vosters pitched four strikeouts and allowed no runs and no hits. Vosters earned his first save of the season.

• Muskingum will be back in action on Saturday, April 5 when they host Ohio Northern for an OAC doubleheader with first pitch at 1:00 p.m. The contest will be the Cambridge Youth Baseball Day.
