The Muskingum baseball team split a hard fought contest with the Wilmington Quakers dropping a closely contested first game 5-4 and pulling out a dominant bounce-back win in the second game 15-5. The Muskies improve to 15-3 on the season after today's action.

Inside The Numbers
Game 1
- The Muskies scored four runs, had nine hits, and added three RBI's.
- Sophomore Grant Mellerson led the Muskies with three hits and one run scored.
- Freshman Lex Castaneda notched one run scored, one hit, and one RBI for the Muskies.
- Junior Sam Palmieri had one run scored and one hit.
- Freshman Jasper Owens, as well as sophomores Benny Hess and Aiden Reis each had one hit.
- Hess also recorded one RBI on the day.
- Senior Tobie Teke logged one RBI.
- Sophomore Conner Thamann had one run, one hit, and one stolen base for the Muskies.
- Graduate student Erik Cover pitched 3.1 innings of action for the Muskies. Cover logged four strikeouts on the day.
- Freshman Jake Valentine came into the game for 3.2 innings and ended with three strikeouts.
- Senior Nathan Johnson finished the game for the Muskies securing two strikeouts.
Game 2
- Muskingum finished with 15 runs, 19 hits, 12 RBI's, and six strikeouts.
- Senior Weston Melick led the Muskie with four hits, four runs scored, and one RBI. Melick also ran the bases for two doubles.
- Senior Tobie Teke and junior Sam Palmieri each logged three runs scored, three hits, and two RBI's.
- Teke was quick on the base path as he logged one stolen base and three doubles.
- Palmieri also secured a triple after a well hit ball.
- Sophomore Benny Hess added two runs scored and two hits.
- Sophomore Aiden Reis and freshman Jasper Owens each secured one run scored and two hits for the Muskies.
- Reis was quick around the bases and added three RBI's, one double, and one stolen base.
- Owens also logged one RBI.
- Sophomore Grant Mellerson had one run scored, one RBI, and two stolen bases.
- Senior Ryan Schwartz added one hit and one RBI.
- Sophomore Shoei Yamashita led the Muskies to a win on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings and recording 3 strikeouts. This win takes Yamashita to 4-0 on the season with an ERA of 1.88.
- Sophomore Weston Hartman went 1.1 innings and junior Yuzo Ishioka each pitched one inning to round out the action on the mound for Muskingum. Hartman logged one strikeout and Ishioka added two strikeouts as they collectively didn't allow a run.
