Baseball dismantles Bethany to improve to 14-2 on the season

The Muskingum baseball team dismantled the Bethany Bison on Wednesday evening by a score of 10-5. The Muskies got started early with four runs in the first inning and never looked back. Freshman Coleman Harvey earned the win after going five innings in his start on the mound for the Muskies.

The Basics  

  • Records: Muskingum (14-2 overall), Bethany (5-7 overall)  
  • Location: Mose Morehead Field - New Concord, Ohio

Inside The Numbers

  • The Muskies scored 10 runs on 12 hits with five walks and three errors.
  • Junior Sam Palmieri led the Muskies with a game high three hits. Palmieri knocked a triple in the bottom of the seventh inning and tallied one run scored in the contest.
  • Sophomore Aiden Reis fired off two hits to help pace the Muskie offense. Reis added a game high four RBI's and logged the Muskies only double of the day.
  • Sophomore Conner Thamann drilled two hits, with two RBI's, and tallied a run scored.
  • Five Muskies recorded a hit to round out the Muskies offense for the day.
  • Junior Jackson Duchesne was one of the Muksies with one hit which was a launched ball into left center that earned him a triple in the first inning. The hit scored two runs and got the Muskies offense rolling early.
  • The Muskies were active on the base path as always. Coming away with a total of seven stolen bases and being led in that regard by Thamann who tallied two on the day.
  • Harvey got the start and earned the win with his play today on the mound. Harvey tallied 5.2 innings of work and struck out five Bethany batters while only allowing two earned runs.
  • Junior Jake Roshau entered for 1.1 innings of work where he struck out two batters.
  • Graduate student Erik Cover dished out one inning where he struck out two batters.
  • Sophomore Gavin Schultz finished out the action on the mound with one inning where he struck out two batters.

Up Next 

  • The Muskies will be back in action when they open OAC play against Wilmington on Saturday, March 22 at 1:00 p.m. This doubleheader action will be the team's Greek Day games.
