Baseball drops high-scoring contest against Franciscan

The Muskingum baseball team dropped a high-scoring road contest against Franciscan on Tuesday evening. The high-offensive performance saw the contest end with a final score of 16-11 in favor of the Barons.

The Basics  

  • Records: Muskingum (13-2 overall), Franciscan (3-4 overall)  
  • Location: Vaccaro Field - Steubenville, Ohio
  • Attendance: 100

Inside The Numbers

  • The Muskies scored 11 runs on 12 hits with four errors.
  • Senior Tobie Teke led the Muskies with three hits, three runs scored, and one RBI. Teke added a walk to his offensive output.
  • Senior Weston Melick, sophomore Grant Mellerson, and freshman Jasper Owens each added two hits. This trio also combined for three RBI's and five runs scored.
  • Junior Sam Palmieri tallied one hit, three RBI's, and one run scored to pace the offense.
  • Sophomore Aiden Reis and freshman Lex Castaneda each added a hit.
  • The Muskies tallied 11 stolen bases. Teke led the way on the base path with four stolen bases.
  • The pitching group of freshman Jake Valentine, freshman Brandon Barnette, junior Max Vosters, and senior Nathan Johnson rounded out the action on the mound for Muskingum.
