Baseball moves to 7-0 on the season with win over William Peace

The Muskingum baseball team moved to 7-0 on the season with a win against William Peace on Sunday afternoon. The Muskies finished with an 8-4 win as freshman Lex Castaneda notched three hits and four RBI's as he led the Muskie bats.

  • The Muskies scored eight runs on 10 hits with one error.
  • Freshman Lex Castaneda led the Muskie bats with three hits, four RBI's, and three runs scored. Of his three hits he logged one double and one triple.
  • Senior Weston Melick and sophomore Benny Hess each tallied two hits to fuel the offense for Muskingum.
  • Melick also added two RBI's and one run scored.
  • Hess tacked on two RBI's.
  • Sophomore Aiden Reis, junior Sam Palmieri, and freshman Jasper Owens each logged a hit in the contest.
  • Senior Tobie Teke earned two walks and scored a run.
  • Junior Max Vosters got the start for the Muskies and went four innings.
  • Sophomore Gavin Schultz finished the game with five innings of work on the mound and struck out nine batters. Schultz earned the win and moved to 3-0 on the season as a pitcher.
