The Muskingum baseball team delivered a series sweep over Ohio Christian after a back-and-forth beginning in the series finale ended with the Muskies pulling away in a huge 11-5 win.
Notables
- With the win, this is back-to-back seasons the Muskies have started 3-0.
How It Happened
- Ohio Christian jumped to an early lead in the first inning. Scoring three runs to get things going.
- The Muskies responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.
- After senior Tobie Teke got on base and stole his way around to third base, junior Sam Palmieri was intentionally walked and stole second base.
- Next up to bat was freshman Lex Castañeda whom notched his first collegiate hit with a clutch two-out double that brought both Teke and Palmieri home.
- After Ohio Christian added a fourth run in the top of the third inning to make it 4-2 the Muskies didn't hesitate to jump on the opportunity to respond.
- Castañeda, once again finding his way to make an impact, started the rally that saw the Muskies fire off a slew of hits that brought in six runs in the bottom of the third.
- Muskingum never gave the lead away after securing it in the third inning and cruised to a 11-5 win.

- Sophomore Benny Hess fired off three hits and one RBI to lead the Muskies offensive force.
- Sophomore Conner Thamann added two hits and three RBI's on the offense.
- Senior Weston Melick fueled the Muskies with two hits and an RBI.
- Freshman Lex Castañeda delivered in the clutch with two hits, both of which were key factors in the Muskies offensive explosion in the second and third innings. Castañeda finished with two RBI's.
- Senior Tobie Teke ended the day with two hits and two RBI's.
- Junior Sam Palmieri tallied one hit and an RBI.
- Junior Max Vosters pitched three innings while tallying two strikeouts.
- Junior Jake Roshau came in and put three innings of work in while striking out six batters.
- Freshman Yuzo Ishioka and junior Lane Goetz both came in for an inning and gave up zero runs.
- Sophomore Caleb Linton added an inning of work with two strikeouts.
- The Muskies also tallied 10 stolen bases in the contest.
